Tan Poh Lee, founder of Scholar Base, is an educator and visionary dedicated to creating joyful and engaging learning experiences for children. As a mother of four, she saw the need for a holistic English program that combined reading, writing, and public speaking—moving beyond the traditional focus on grammar.  

In 2004, she founded Scholar Base with a mission to make learning fun and interactive through storytelling, drama, and games. Her approach has transformed thousands of students into confident learners who excel both academically and personally.  

In 2018, she expanded Scholar Base to offer the British Cambridge syllabus, with a focus on small class sizes and personalized attention. This dedication has led to exceptional student outcomes, including Cambridge Learner Awards and high success rates.  

As Scholar Base approaches its 20th anniversary, Tan Poh Lee remains committed to nurturing confident, curious scholars who love learning and thrive in every aspect of life.
