Scholar Base began in 2005 as an English language centre dedicated to enhance children’s proficiency in English and nurturing a lifelong love for reading. As a mother of four, our founder, Tan Poh Lee, was inspired to establish the centre after struggling to find a holistic English program that integrated reading, writing, and public speaking, instead of just focusing on grammar drills. This led to the creation of our unique English programme, designed to cultivate confident and articulate learners.

As we approach our 20th anniversary next year, we are proud to have inspired thousands of children and nurtured a lifelong love for learning. In 2018, we expanded our offerings to include the British Cambridge syllabus, providing small class sizes and personalized attention. To uphold the highest teaching standards, our IGCSE subject teachers have undergone Cambridge Professional Training courses. Our IGCSE results have been outstanding, with two students receiving the Cambridge Learner Award last year and 80% of our students achieving A or A* grades in academic subjects.
